At China’s invitation, US President Donald Trump paid a state visit to China from May 13 to 15. The two heads of state had in-depth exchanges on bilateral ties and major international issues. They agreed to manage disputes, conduct healthy competition and carry out pragmatic cooperation as the core guideline for bilateral relations. Both sides agreed to restart the China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade and follow up cooperation covering economy, trade, cultural exchanges and climate issues. They also decided to launch a high-level military hotline for crisis control and conduct regulated limited technical exchanges on AI and semiconductors.
