In an interview with financial media in early April, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang talked about US chip export restrictions and the company’s China market layout. Restrictions on advanced AI chips imposed by US regulators have greatly affected Nvidia’s business, including indefinite curbs on exports of H20 chips. Having operated in China for 30 years, Nvidia will keep developing products compliant with relevant regulations to serve local customers. Huang warned against splitting the global AI industry into two separate technical systems and stressed that the globalization of semiconductor supply chains is the long-term industry trend. He also confirmed Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron have been selected as core suppliers of next-generation HBM products.
